On the African savanna you will find flocks of peaceful grazing Zebras. Obviously these beautiful animals have also had to stand as models for our hand-painted, colourful cushion covers.
Behind the production of our cushion cover Colwa are artists from Tribal Textiles from Zambia who create unique hand-painted textiles. They mix traditional African art with modern design. Production takes place in harmony with nature and the local community. In a region where unemployment is high, Tribal Textiles is a significant employer with approximately hundred employees.
Fact: cushion covers are hand painted with pigment color on 100% cotton. The manufacturing process consists of painting, starching, sun-drying and boiling of the fabrics. The colors are mixed by hand and therefore slight variations in color occur. Cushion covers are 46 x 46cm made to fit standard cushions 50x 50cm and can be machine washed in lukewarm water
